Group assaults camper at Tracadie Beach

TRACADIE – A man sustained serious injuries after being assaulted in the early morning hours Sunday by a group of men.

RCMP report that a couple were camping on Tracadie Beach. They said that between 4 and 5 a.m., several men approached their tent and physically assaulted the male camper.  The victim sustained serious injuries and is being treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. 

The men fled the scene in a vehicle and were believed to be travelling with several females.

    @gentle my a**: while this is an unfortunate iincident the Island is quite safe compared to other locations in Canada. You obviously haven't lived some of the places that I have around Canada

    Gentle Island my you know what. They do it because they know there are no consequences. Cops need the support of the Judicial System to have any effect. Unfortunately our judges operate more like a dysfunctional family. You never know what you'll get just that it won't make sense or be a deterrent.

      The police do the best they can to find these people and get them into the court... And for what? So a judge can turn around and give them a gentle pat on the back before sending them on their way?? I shudder to think what terrible things will have to happen on our island before criminals are actually punished.
