BORDEN-CARLETON – Since 2003, Sun-N-Shade Campground, under the direction of owners Marnie and Harold Noye, raised more than $80,000 for the IWK health centre in Halifax.

Borden-Carleton KOA Campground employee Carol Gallant, left, site managers Jason and Rachel DeCourcey with children Cole, Elyse and Amelia DeDourcey, and camper volunteers Kathy and George Cotton are gearing up to celebrate Christmas in July this Friday and Saturday at the campground. This is a fundraising event for the IWK health centre in Halifax. Submitted photo

The business was sold to KOA in 2013, but the new managers are committed to ensuring that the support of the IWK continues at the Borden-Carleton campground.

“We need to ensure that the IWK is here for our Maritime families and we are proud that our fundraiser will help make that happen,” says campground manager, Rachel DeCourcey.

On Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26, Borden-Carleton KOA will be hosting Christmas in July with special fundraisers in support of the hospital.

Campers and the general public will enjoy live entertainment, a silent auction, balloon drop, cookie decorating, snow hayrides with bubbles, karaoke, ice cream social, barbecue, chocolate bar bingo, cake, and much more.
