The mangement of this facility should be ashamed and Govt is allowing it to happen. My understanding is only what I hear from people familiar with the operations. I hear from many that there laying off emeployees from PEI who have worked there for years and making a decent wage and bringing in foreigners at a much reduced hourly wage and then the govt is paying half their wages. The locals whom are being layed off, many of them have to leave their families and go west to work, Maybe its some of these managment people whom need to go,. I also hear that there has been a few injuries on site too that were never followed up on to protect management. Whattt, I though immigrants were only to be used if no locals were available to fill theses positions. I support Atlantic Beef but why did they bring in people from Quebec to run the plant, pay there rent, buy there vehicles. Why is this happening. Shame on ATLantic beef and govt.
