RCMP looking for public’s help

STANHOPE — Vandals have targeted Stanhope’s North Shore Community Centre, resulting in the RCMP turning to the public for help in solving the crime.

Queens District RCMP are hoping the public can help identify those responsible for property damage and vandalism to the centre, which is located on Route 25 Stanhope.

The damage occurred sometime overnight on June 23. The culprits scattered garbage and broken glass across the grass behind and to the side of the building and also damaged the propane tank and ventilation systems.

This intentional vandalism is of concern to the RCMP, community centre staff and residents in the area as there are always children of all ages present and playing in the grass area, and the damaged propane tanks could have easily been breached.

Anyone with information can contact their local RCMP detachment or P.E.I. Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
