SUMMERSIDE – Thank you police for all that you do.

That will be the message next week at four Tim Hortons locations across Prince Edward Island.

Owner Danny Murphy said everyone should show their appreciation to police for all the work that they do.

“It has to do with this week’s tragedy in Moncton,” Murphy said. “It’s an opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to our police officers who probably don’t get the recognition they deserve. So, we’re going to have a meet and greet, open house next week. We’re going to go four different days in four different locations.”

On Tuesday, June 10, the open house will be held at the Tim Hortons Granville Street location in Summerside; on June 11, it will be in Charlottetown at the St. Peters Road location; on June 12, in Montague; and on June 13 in O’Leary. The open houses will run from 9 to 10 a.m.

“I’m sending out an invite to all police officers across the Island,” Murphy said. “If you’re working as a police officer driving around, you can drop in for a coffee and the public will have a chance to thank you for what you’re doing in the community. Every single day they put that uniform on they’re in the line of fire,” he said.
