Man fine $1,000 for driving while disqualified

SUMMERSIDE – A Summerside man was caught at a police checkpoint in April for operating a motor vehicle while disqualified.


Terry Richard Ellis, 66, was stopped on April 3 on Route 2 in Summerside.

Ellis pleaded guilty to the charge in Summerside provincial court Thursday, and was fined $1,000.

In addition to the fine, Ellis was given a 12-month driving prohibition and ordered to pay a victim fine surcharge of $300.
