STRATFORD – The body of a man was found in Stratford Thursday by two men working to clear brush from a wooded area.

Paul Keep was with a private land owner, who has not been identified, as the two worked in a spruce grove between the east boundary of Tea Hill Park and a private golf range, part of a large estate next to the park.

Police received the report about 2:10 p.m. but were not able to release any details until a preliminary forensic report is available, which is not expected until at least Friday or later.

The RCMP police dog team was part of the investigation, as was the forensic identification team, major crime investigation team and members of the Stratford and Charlottetown RCMP detachments.

Observers at the scene told The Guardian that through talk with people involved, the body appears to have been at the site a long time and was not a recent incident.
