Price of gas down on the Island

CHARLOTTETOWN - Islanders will be pleased to hear the price of gas has dropped.

As of May 15 at 12:01 a.m., the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission allowed the following petroleum pricing decisions.

Gasoline prices have decreased by 4.4 cents per litre. Furnace and stove oil prices went down by 3.5 cpl, and diesel prices by 4.0 cpl. The price of propane remains the same at this time.

Including adjustments for taxes, pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will now range from 136.9 to 138.1 cpl. The prices of propane will stay between 91.0 to 92.8 cpl, which is the maximum before tax.

The maximum price for furnace oil will now amount to 106.8 cpl plus tax.

June 1 will be the Commission’s next scheduled price adjustment.
