Two men facing drugs charges

SUMMERSIDE – A  Port Hill man and a Cape Egmont man are facing drug charges after being stopped, for a driving offences in Summerside.

The Prince District JFO Drug Unit arrested the a 40-year old Port Hill man, May 8,  for prohibited driving in Summerside. 

During the course of the investigation police located a small quantity of marijuana and the vehicle was also impounded for 30 days. The male was released and will be summonsed to appear in Summerside Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of prohibited driving and possession of marijuana. 

On May 9, members of the Prince District JFO Drug Unit arrested a 30-year-old man from the Cape Egmont area for impaired driving in St Raphael. During the course of the investigation a small quantity of cocaine was also seized.  The man was released and will be summonsed to appear in Summerside Provincial Court at a later date to face impaired driving and possession of cocaine charges.

The Prince District JFO Drug Unit is comprised of officers from Summerside Police Services and the East Prince and West Prince RCMP detachments and is responsible for drug investigations within the Prince District and Summerside City areas.
