Tickets for valuable Mother’s Day basket draw and Saturday night concert

BORDEN-CARLETON – The Borden-Carleton fire department has financed its new pumper truck, to keep the community safe, but the challenge is to pay it off

A Mother's Day basket of goodies, including three bridge passes, and a Saturday night concert, featuring Dusty Roads & Friends, will help pay down financing on the new Borden-Carleton pumper truck, here being inspected by Tourism and Culture minister Robert Henderson, fire captain Shawn Jessome, and Agriculture and Forestry minister George Webster, the local MLA.

A fundraising effort is underway, with the latest events being a draw for a Mother’s Day basket and a concert, Saturday night, at the Borden Legion.

For less than the price of a drive-thru coffee, the Mother’s Day prize includes three Confederation Bridge passes and $150 of seafood, among its goodies.

The concert begins at 7 p.m., and features Dusty Roads & Friends, including Roy MacCaull, dancers Trinity Somers and Bridget Patterson, and fiddler Jason Campbell.

Basket tickets are available from Ceretti’s Grocery, Howatt’s Tourist Mart and Gateway Esso until Saturday afternoon, then at the concert in the evening. All proceeds from the sales go to the pumper truck fund.
