CAVENDiSH - Lotto Max presents the Cavendish Beach Music Festival announced that the festival's president, Jeff Squires, has been appointed to the Canadian Country Music Association Board of Directors.

Jeff Squires, president of the Cavendish Beach Music Festival, has just been appointed to the Canadian Country Music Association Board of Directors.

"With his diverse background, including directing the successful Cavendish Beach Festival, Jeff's entrepreneurialism and commitment to the Atlantic Canada region is a welcome addition to the CCMA Board," notes Ron Kitchener, chair of the CCMA Board of Directors.

Squires, president of the largest outdoor festival and one of the major craft breweries in the area, started his career as a teacher and high school principal at Kinkora Regional High. His leadership abilities and entrepreneurial drive led him to the private sector; where he crafted, co-owned and became president of Imageworks Communications Group, an advertising and communications business in Charlottetown.

It was at that time that a collaborative project came together among several entrepreneurs in the city: the Cavendish Beach Music Festival, directed by Squires.

Now in production for its sixth year, the festival has become a summer staple for the Atlantic region. Country Music year after year has delved into popular culture and more than ever, Squires said he is excited to sit on the Canadian Country Music Association's board of directors and to develop, strengthen and grow Atlantic Canadian country music through his new role and the Cavendish Beach Music Festival.

General admission weekend passes and Molson Fan Zone passes are now on sale for the annual summer music festival at www.cavendishbeachmusic.com, in person at Confederation Centre of the Arts or toll-free at 1-877-569-7767.
