The incident occurred just after 4 p.m. Thursday when the vehicle veered into the oncoming lane, forcing other vehicles on to the shoulder of the road. The bystanders got the erratically driven vehicle stopped after it hit a stop sign.

Queens District RCMP arrested a 46-year-old woman from the New London area and charged her with impaired driving and refusing to provide breath samples.

She is scheduled to answer the charges in provincial court on June 23.
