Event features communication expert and humorist Bill Carr

CHARLOTTETOWN – Prince Edward Island is expecting an exciting tourism year, with 2014 celebrations in the forefront, and the Tourism Industry Association of Prince Edward Island (TIAPEI) wants the industry to be ready to welcome the world.

TIAPEI is launching the season with an inspiring breakfast, featuring Bill Carr, a communication expert and award-winning humourist. He will explore the importance of Island service and the people who offer it, a press release detailed.

“In his travels, Bill has noticed one thing – when people talk about the Island they mention the attractions of course, but they are amazed at the people. They can’t stop talking about how warmly welcomed they felt,” the release revealed.

Hospitality is all about relationships and authentic human exchange, Carr advises. What makes P.E.I. one of the world’s premier destinations is magnificent beaches, great restaurants, events, theatre, fishing, lobsters, amazing getaways and gentle beauty, but what keeps it as a premier destination is the people, the release elaborated.

TAIPEI recommends attendance at the breakfast to engage Carr’s evaluation and support for the Island’s tourism strength: the people.

“This is a great opportunity for tourism employers and employees to get motivated and hyped for the season,” TIAPEI president Kevin Mouflier included in the release.

“Customer service is so important to the success of our businesses they you want your employees to provide the very best service,” he reminded.

The breakfast is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28th, at the Rodd Royalty hotel from 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., and tickets are $25 each.
