CHARLOTTETOWN - Botanist Kate MacQuarrie has assembled an array of flower power slides for a timely review of Shy and Showy Wildflowers to be presented at the May Nature P.E.I. meeting at Beaconsfield, the Carriage House, corner of West and Kent Streets, Charlottetown.

Her talk will highlight the variety of blooms, including the rare and hidden, the common and the popular. “I picked my favourites and put them in,” said MacQuarrie. “ My goal is really to get people to think about the diversity of wildflowers that we have.”

Botanist Diane Griffin will deliver the show.

“It is a rite of passage to visit some favourite haunts in spring and search for wildflowers,” she said. “When they are found, it is truly spring.”

The show is set for May 6 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
