Man arrested on drug charges

SUMMERSIDE - Members of the Prince District JFO Drug Unit arrested a 30-year-old Summerside man, Friday, on an outstanding warrant.

Police located marijuana, a scale, a cell phone and a quantity of cash on the man. He was interviewed and, based on the interview and available evidence, a summons will be issued for the male to appear in Summerside Provincial Court at a later date.

The man will face charges of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, as well as other charges relating to trafficking of marijuana and dilaudid, which will be determined after a further review of the evidence.

The Prince District JFO Drug Unit is comprised of officers from the Summerside Police Services and the East Prince and West Prince RCMP detachments and is responsible for conducting drug investigations within the Prince District and Summerside City areas. Anyone with information on drug trafficking in these areas should contact the Prince District JFO Drug Unit at 436-9300 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
