SAR, Coast Guard were in attendance on setting day

SUMMERSIDE -- The 413 Transport and Rescue Squadron, based out of 14 Wing Greenwood helped assure the safety of lobster fishing fleets in P.E.I., Nova Scotia and New Brunswick during traditional setting day activities this week. 

The 413 Squadron had a Cormorant CH-149 helicopter repositions in Summerside as part of the Canadian Armed Forces and Canadian Coast Guard’s heightened Search and Rescue coverage, standard operating procedure for all high risk fisheries.

A coast guard ship from the Quebec region, the CCGS Louis M. Lauzier also joined the patrols, stationed off Alberton P.E.I. on Thursday.
