SUMMERSIDE – The annual RBC Financal Summerside District 4-H Communications Competition was held April 11, 2014, at the St. Eleanors Lions Club Hall.
Hailey Cole, Chantelle Milligan, Janice Tait (RBC representative), Colton Lowther, Gabbie Richard, Selina Lowther, Robert Larsen, and Molly Murphy.
Winners from the Albany Centennial, Evangeline, Lot 16, French River, and Freetown Harmony 4-H Clubs came together to compete for the chance to represent the Summerside District at the 2014 Provincial 4-H Public Speaking and Demonstrations Competitions being held next month in Charlottetown.
Judges Derrith MacDougall, Steve Reeves, Dan MacEachern, Norma Gallant, Christine Snowden, and Tanya Gordon had the difficult task of selecting winners of each division. Chairing the competition was Leah Craig of the Horsin’ Around 4-H Club. Janice Tait was on hand to present awards on behalf of RBC.
Winners of each division were; Jr. Single Demonstration, Robert Larsen of Albany Centennial 4-H Club; Jr. Team Demonstration, Selina and Colton Lowther of Albany Centennial 4-H Club; Sr. Team Demonstration, Chantelle Milligan and Hailey Cole of French River 4-H Club; Jr. Speaker, Rebekah Brown of the Lot 16 4-H Club; Int. Speaker, Gabbie Richard of the Lot 16 4-H Club; Sr. Speaker, Molly Murphy of the Albany Centennial 4-H Club.
The winner of the Mabel Carmichael Memorial Award was Claire Keough of Albany Centennial 4-H Club.
This award is presented annually to the top junior performance by a member who is competing at the District level for the first time.
