Some Islanders seem inconvenienced by the time and travel expense to properly dispose of electronics at electronic drop-off sites, so Holland College Waterfront Center is accepting items today in Bay 1 at the rear of the downtown centre, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., in celebration of Earth Day 2014.
Normally, electronics have to be taken to one of the drop-off centers at the East Prince Waste Management Facility in Wellington Centre, Brockton and New London, or to the Superior Sanitation facility at 175 Industrial Crescent in Summerside.
Jeff Cameron, learning manager of the Wind Turbine and Electromechanical Programs at Holland College, noted that the Green Machine organization at the college is managing the event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in celebration of Earth Day 2014.
Electronics can be dropped off at the back of Holland College Waterfront Centre (formerly Waterfront Mall) at bay door #1. IWMC will pick up and transport the electronics for systematic disposal.
