Man fined for disturbing the peace

SUMMERSIDE – A 34-year-old Greenmount man was sentenced to three days in jail and fined $500 after pleading guilty in Summerside provincial, Monday, court to charges of causing a disturbance and failure to comply with an undertaking.

Jason Whitney Oliver was charged after being involved in a public disturbance with his girl friend’s father on July 14.

Crown attorney John Diamond said Oliver became involved with the woman’s father after he tried to break up an argument between Oliver and the woman.

The father received a cut on the left side of his chin after being bitten by Oliver. The man refused medical attention.

Oliver was fined $500 on the charge.

He received the three-day jail term for failure to attend a court ordered appearance on August 2.
