ALBERTON -- Most of Maritime Electric’s repair crews are working in the western end of the province today as the utility focuses on getting power restored to customers in the hardest hit region of the province as quickly as possible.
Maritime Electric spokesman Kim Griffin said 24 crews are working in the province today. Only emergency crews remain in the other districts across the province.
Griffin reported in her 10:30 a.m. update there are about 1800 customers still without power from Monday’s ice storm.
In addition to large outages, the utility is hearing from customers in communities where the main lines have been repaired indicating their power did not come on with their neighbours.
