Charlottetown Police have released the identities of three young men who died in a fire in that community this past weekend.

The deceased are Kenneth Cameron Irving, 15, Brandon Daniel Alexander MacKinnon, 16 and Joseph Allison Reeves, 19.

The fire occurred early Saturday morning at a vacant building on Mount Edward Road.

Three of the victims were found inside by firefighters in the building, a fourth man was found injured outside the building.

According to a police press release issued Monday afternoon, there is no foul play suspected in the fire.

Police say they have, until this point, concentrated on positively identifying the victims. They will now begin to piece together what led the men to the vacant building.

“Police have already conducted a number of interviews and will continue to interview and follow up with any one who may have come in contact with the boys on that day to try and make some sense out of this terrible tragedy,” said the release.

Police are still waiting for the fourth victim’s condition to improve before interviewing him.

Special services have been made available to the families and friends of the victims, said the release.

“We would like to thank the families of the victims for there patience through out this tragic period in there lives, the investigation will continue working towards an outcome we hope will help bring some closure for the families,” it said.
