Postal Workes provide petition outlet for citizen protest of delivery changes

SUMMERSIDE - Postal workers set up two information tables, Saturday morning, to publicize the changes that Canada Post is planning to implement and allow citizens to sign a petition in opposition to those changes.

One of the tables was downtown, on the sidewalk in frot of office of Egmont MP Gail Shea, on Water Street, while the other wasm set up at the flea market at the Boys and Girls Club on Notre Dame St. The postal workers also hosted a hot-dog barbecue outside the Boys and Girls Club.

The action was part of an Atlantic Region Day of Action, involving more than 30 union locals across the three provinces.

The opportunity to sign the petitions continued until approximately 12:30 p.m. Further public meetings are planned.
