SUMMERSIDE- Maritime Electric crews have been pulled off the roads Wednesday night, because of deteriorating weather conditions.
Kim Griffin, spokesperson for Maritime Electric said crews were able to get more of the power outages repaired but the road conditions were too dangerous to allow crews to continue.
“We have about 600 who are without power across the Island,” Griffin said We are taking our crews off the road because it’s just too dangerous to be out there And we are going to have a further update at 7 a.m.”
Griffin said crews are on standby in the event of an emergency.
“They have had to be escorted back to our depots by plows so they are there at the depot centre but I don’t expect they will be back out tonight because it doesn’t look like it is going to let up at all.”
