A major winter storm has moved into the area causing drifting and blowing snow.
“As per all warnings from Environment Canada, we are expecting white-out conditions later this afternoon making driving conditions difficult and a public safety issue,” said Police Chief David Poirier.
The public is also being reminded of the following section of the city's 'Traffic & Parking Bylaw' which states;
“In order to facilitate snow removal from the streets of the city, during the period of Nov. 1 to April 30, no person shall park a motor vehicle on any streets within the city or on property owned by the city between the hours of 1 a.m. and 6 a.m., except with the permission of the chief of police or his/her designate'“
Summerside Police Services would like to thank the motoring public for their anticipated cooperation. Please stay safe.
