CHARLOTTETOWN – Six Island authors have been short-listed for the biennial P.E.I. Book Awards.
There were 28 books nominated for awards.
Culture Minister Robert Henderson said in a release that the Awards are a great way to promote local artists.
“The Book Awards are a great way to recognize the tremendous talent that exists in the Island’s literary community and to increase the profile of Island authors,” said Henderson.
The 2014 PEI Book Awards will take place in conjunction with the
Atlantic Book Awards on May 21 at the Prince Edward Island Convention Centre. The Atlantic Book Awards are in Charlottetown this year as part of the planned 2014 celebrations.
This year’s P.E.I. Book Award short-list nominees are:

photographie (1962-2012)" by Pan Wendt
"The Master¹s Wife: The Book and the Place" edited by John Flood
