NEW ANNAN – The RCMP are not releasing any more information at this time about a weekend robbery in New Annan.

In their weekend press release, RCMP had said that more information would available early this week.

However, RCMP Sgt. Andrew Blackadar reported Thursday that he had no new information to offer.

The investigation is ongoing, said Blackadar.

The robbery took place at the Irving Gas Bar in New Annan.

Just before 9 p.m., a lone male walked into the station and demanded cash and cigarettes from the store attendant. The perpetrator made off with an undisclosed amount of both. The attendant was not harmed.

RCMP Major Crime Unit is investigating the incident.

Anyone with potential details is asked to call their local RCMP detachment, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS to possibly qualify for a cash reward up to $2,000.
