Brett, 15, was announced as 2014 ambassador earlier this month and has had a busy schedule ever since.
The Mermaid resident has cerebral palsy, is confined to a wheelchair and uses a computer to help him communicate. But despite his physical challenges, he has not let his spirit become dulled.
‚ÄúI enjoy life so much and do not miss out on a thing,‚ÄĚ he told the Rotarians.
‚ÄúI work very hard for all of my achievements and am determined and motived by all the wonderful people in my life, without their support it would be difficult.‚ÄĚ
The signature event of the ambassadorship, the school tour, isn’t set to start until mid-April, but Brett has still had a busy schedule lately.
He’s thankful for the opportunity, he said.
‚ÄúI thank Easter Seals for this amazing opportunity to build awareness. I hope all Islanders in similar situations can get the support they need to help them achieve their goals,‚ÄĚ he said.
‚ÄúI want people to dream big and live their best life ‚Äď I do,‚ÄĚ he said.
