SUMMERSIDE – Three Oaks Senior High School students are trying to help educate students in less affluent corners of the world by holding a fundraiser this weekend.
The Free the Children group at Three Oaks in Summerside is organizing a charity swim at Credit Union Place, Summerside, this Saturday, March 8, from 2 to 6 p.m.

Every single penny will be going towards helping Free the Children build a school, employ teachers and leave underdeveloped communities the supplies they need to educate themselves. Countries benefiting from this charity include Haiti, Ghana, India and Kenya.

"With an education these communities will be able to pull themselves out of poverty and break the cycle," noted Breann Hastings from the Three Oaks Senior High’s Free the Children group.

The TOSH group has other fundraisers planned for the near future, including a challenge with some of the other high schools in the area, as they work towards their goal of raising $10,000 for Free the Children.
