Young Entrepreneurs forum to include visit from Minister Shea

WOODSTOCK -- Federal Fisheries Minister Gail Shea will address the fourth annual Young Entrepreneurs Forum on Wednesday, March 12, at the Rodd Mill River Resort.

“Small business is the backbone of our economy, and I am pleased that the youth of our area are taking an interest in entrepreneurship as a career option,” said Minister Shea who is the Member of Parliament for Egmont.

The deadline for registering for the free forum is this Saturday, March 8. Individuals can sign up by phoning Cletus Dunn at 853-3616 or by emailing him at cletus.dunn@cbdc.ca. Registration can also be made through the forum’s website, westprinceyouthforum.com.

The forum is hosted by CBDC West Prince Ventures Ltd., with support from funding partners, ACOA, InnovationPEI, PEI2014 and CBDC Central and from community sponsors Tignish and Evangeline-Central Credit Unions, West Prince Chamber of Commerce and the Alberton Rural Action Centre.

Daryn Jones of MTV fame, singer-songwriter Meaghan Blanchard and a cast of local entrepreneurs will form a panel to share their stories, and Insight Marketing will lead a workshop to review skills instrumental in starting a business.
