St. Felix man jailed for impaired driving

SUMMERSIDE - A St. Felix man will spend five days in jail after pleading guilty in Summerside provincial court to a charge of impaired driving.

 

Leo Joseph Perry, 59 was stopped by West Prince RCMP after a citizen complained on an erratic driver near Cascumpec.

Police stopped Perry and made a breathalyzer demand.

Perry recorded readings of 240, 210 and 220

In handing down the sentence Judge Jeff Lantz said that Perry’s readings were nearly three times the legal limit.

In addition to the jail sentence, Perry was fined $1,500, ordered to pay a victim fine surcharge of $450 and lost his driving privileges for one year.
