Palmer Road man jailed for impaired driving

SUMMERSIDE – A Palmer Road man was sentenced to four days in jail after pleading guilty in Summerside provincial court to a charge of impaired driving.

 

 

John Gillis, 65, was stopped by West Prince RCMP after a citizen complaint of an erratic driver.

A breathalyzer demand was made and Gillis recorded readings of 130 and 120.

In addition to the jail sentence, Gillis was fined $1,000, ordered to pay a victim fine surcharge of $300 and lost his driving privileges for one year.
