CHARLOTTETOWN — P.E.I.’s Paper Lions, along with Classified and David Myles, lead the pack with six nominations each for this year’s East Coast Music Awards.

The nominations were announced Tuesday morning.
Paper Lions’ is nominated for Album of the Year for “My Friends”; Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year; Fan’s Choice Video of the Year for “Philadelphia (Seaport Sessions) directed by Millefiore Clarkes; Group Recording of the Year; Pop Record of the Year; and Song of the Year for “My Friend,” produced by Colin Linden.
Other Island nominees include:
— Album of the Year — Two Hours Traffic for “Foolish Blood”
— Country Recording of the year — Meaghan Blanchard for “She’s Gonna Fly”
— Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year — Lennie Gallant, Rose Cousins, Tim Chaisson
— Fan’s Choice Video of the Year — Rose Cousins’ self-directed “For the Best”
— Loud Recording of the Year — Death Valley Driver for “Graveyard Dead”
— Pop Recording of the Year — Two Hours Traffic for “Foolish Blood”
— Roots/Traditional Group Recording of the year — Gordie MacKeeman & His Rhythm Boys for “Picking N Clickin”
— Ten Strings and a Goat Skin for “Corbeau”
— Song of the Year — Tim Chaisson for “The Healing”
— Songwriter of the Year — Tim Chaisson for “The Healing
— Event of the Year — Indian River Festival
— Media Person of the Year — Doug Gallant
— Music Merchant of the Year — Back Alley Music
— Studio of the Year — The Sound Mill
— Venue of the Year — Harmony House Theatre, St. Mary’s Church Indian River
The P.E.I. 2014 Fan’s Choice Entertain of the Year and the P.E.I. 2014 Fan’s Choice Video of the Year awards are both voted on by the public.
Fans can cast their vote online at www.pei2014.ca/ecmw starting Wednesday. There is one vote per IP address, per day, until March 27 at midnight.
Winners will be announced on April 6 at the Eastlink East Coast Music Awards Gala at the P.E.I. Convention Centre in Charlottetown.
