St. Charles man pleads guilty to impaired driving

GEORGETOWN - A St. Charles man has been sentenced to 18 days in jail for impaired driving.

 

Lee Leonard McCormack appeared before Judge Nancy Orr in Georgetown Court, Thursday and pleaded guilty to a charge of driving over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 mls of blood..  

McCormack was stopped at an RCMP checkpoint conducted on Main Street in Souris on Dec. 20. 

He failed a roadside screening test and was taken to the Souris RCMP office where he supplied two breath samples over the 80 mgs legal limit.  

Along with the jail time McCormack was fined $1000, and there was a $300 victims of crime surcharge imposed.  He was also prohibited from driving a motor vehicle for a period of one year.
