CHARLOTTETOWN -- The Prince Edward Island Shellfish Association has a new executive director.
Association president Brenda Campbell said Greg McKee’s experience and training in organization development and project and event planning makes him well suited for the position. She noted the PEISA has immediate objectives of increasing membership involvement and knowledge of its activities.
McKee has worked as a community development manager in West Prince and as Provincial Parks manager. He and his family recently returned to P.E.I. from Quebec where he had operated an agriculture business.
Since his return, he started Encore Strategic Solutions and was recently concluded a project with the West Point Development Corporation.
In his new role, McKee will help fulfill the Shellfish Association’s mandate which includes ongoing enhancement activities, research projects, the P.E.I. Shellfish Festival and operation of Hurds Point Trailer Park.
Partners in providing financial assistance for the executive director’s position include P.E.I. Atlantic Shrimp Corporation, and P.E.I. Department of Fisheries Aquaculture and Rural Development.
