CHARLOTTETOWN – You’re never too old to appreciate a good Valentine’s Day card.

With that in mind, Island children between the ages of six and 16 are being invited to help make cards for Canadian veterans.

Dubbed Valentines for Vets, the program has been running since 1989 when newspaper columnist, Ann Landers, inspired it.

This year’s campaign is being assisted by the members of HMCS Queen Charlotte, who will be helping to make the cards.

Anyone interested in participating can visit HMCS Queen Charlotte at 210 Water Street in Charlottetown, on Feb. 10 from 4 to 6 p.m.

The cards will be distributed to vets in long-term care facilities across the country in time for Feb. 14.

In order to prepare for this activity, families are asked to confirm their attendance by Feb. 7, to Lt(N) Melissa Fudge at 902-368-0414 ext 235 or by email at Melissa.Fudge@Forces.gc.ca.
