The O’Leary 4-H club recently presented $371 to the O’Leary CAT Action team to assist with the organization’s efforts in spaying, neutering, treating and caring for feral cats in the O’Leary area. Krista Adams, second left, from O’Leary CAT Action, accepts the contribution from 4-H members Desiree Arsenault, left, Olivia Batten, right, and group leader Mary Gallant.
O’LEARY -- A leader of the O’Leary explorers 4-H Club is extending a challenge to other 4-H groups in the province to choose, as their community project, to financially support an animal support program. Mary Gallant said her group chose to donate one-half of their proceeds from a grocery-bagging day at Bloomfield Foodland to the O’Leary CAT Action team. The other half of the $742 her group raised will support club activities.
CAT Action uses the funds it receives to spay, neuter, treat and held care for feral cats.
