BLOOMFIELD — It will be a battle on the ice in aid of a good cause.
On Friday, RCMP members and employees from West Prince will strap on the blades and hit the ice to take on Bloomfield Elementary School teachers, parents and alumni.
The groups will square off for a game of hockey to raise funds for a new accessible playground for the school and surrounding community.
To date, the organizing committee has raised more than $35,000, and the event on Friday is hoped to move that total closer to the $90,000 needed to complete the project.
Besides the action on the ice, there will be a bake sale, Toonie Toss, 50/50 draw and a gift basket draw.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children and children under age five free.
The puck drops at 8 p.m. at the O'Leary Community Sports Centre.
