MONTROSE -- The two occupants of a late model GMC Sierra were transported to Western Hospital for treatment of minor injuries following a single vehicle collision along the Union Road in Montrose Wednesday afternoon. The 63 year-old male driver was subsequently arrested and faces an impaired driving charge.

West Prince RCMP Const. Matt LeFurgey said the driver lost control on ice and slid off the road. The vehicle cane to rest on its side on the edge of a driveway. He said the female passenger was able to crawl out on her own, but Alberton Fire Department had to remove a window to free the driver.

LeFurgey suggested the vehicle was written off in the collision.
