Police advise motorist to stay off the roads

SUMMERSIDE - Summerside Police Services is advising motorists to remain off city streets today unless absolutely necessary.


Police said there have been reported cases of white-out conditions in different areas of the city making driving conditions difficult and a public safety issue. The public is also reminded of the following section of the city's Traffic and Parking Bylaw'which states;

“In order to facilitate snow removal from the streets of the city, during the period of November 1st to April 30th, no person shall park a motor vehicle on any streets within the city or on property owned by the city between the hours of 1 a.m. and 6 a.m., except with the permission of the chief of police or his/her designate.”
