CHARLOTTETOWN – New Democratic Party Leader Mike Redmond has a full day planned in Summerside on Friday.

“I am very excited to visit Summerside and hear the concerns of local people,” Redmond said.

The NDP Leader has morning meetings scheduled with Mayor Basil Stewart and city council as well as the leaders of la Société Saint-Thomas-d’Aquin.

In the afternoon, Redmond will visit Holland College and speak to a large group of kids at the Boys and Girls Club.

“I am looking forward to a frank and honest exchange at the Boys and Girls Club,” he said. “Kids don’t pull punches – they are brutally honest and that is something that I truly enjoy.”

Redmond will also spend some time at the County Fair Mall and in downtown Summerside.

“The most important thing for me is to get out and about in the city and meet people,” he said. “Face to face conversations with Islanders are always a tremendous learning experience for me. The goal for the day is to learn about the challenges facing the city and its citizens.”
