TIGNISH -- Tignish Community Council chairman Allan McInnis has juggled his council portfolios. The changes, which affect four councilors, were announced during Monday’s monthly council meeting.
Councilor Joey Carragher holds on to Sewer and Water but picks up property management from Ed Gallant. Gallant stays on as finance chair and councilor responsible for Tignish Initiatives and picks up form Jody Morrissey-Richard responsibility for Communities in Bloom and Tourism. Morrissey Richard keeps RCMP, streetlights and sidewalks.
Councilor Wayne Gavin maintains responsibility for library and picks up the Streets portfolio from Carragher. Councilor Angel Murphy remains in charge of Parks, Recreation and Planning and Allan Gavin remains responsible for the Fire Department.
McInnis also formed a new committee to look into acquiring land for extending the community’s lagoon. He will sit on that committee with Gallant and Carragher.
