SUMMERSIDE - A 22-year-old Prince County man was sentenced to 10 months in jail after pleading guilty in Summerside provincial court to possession of marijuana and oxycodone with intent to traffic.
Gerald Christopher Mill was arrested by police in downtown Summerside on April 27 after receiving information that Mill was in possession of the drugs.
Prior to that arrest, police had secured a search warrant for Mill’s residence and seized 125.8 grams of cannabis marijuana, several sandwich and zip lock plastic bags, 24 oxycodone tablets, three digital scales, a score sheet and a defensive baton.
In handing down the sentence, Judge Jeff Lantz noted Mill had no previous record and that the accused was still young and there was hope for rehabilitation.
In addition to the jail term, Lantz placed Mill on 18 months probation, ordered a $100 victim surcharge fine and prohibited Mill from owning a weapon for 10 years.
