SUMMERSIDE – Police here are looking for a lottery ticket thief.

Investigators are searching for a 24-year-old Summerside man after he allegedly ran out of a local convenience store on Granville Street on New Year’s Eve at about 8:10 p.m. with a stack of pull-tab lottery tickets.

The man returned to the store about five hours later and did the same thing again.

Summerside Police Services Sgt. Joe Peters said when the accused is apprehended, he will be charged with the two counts of theft. The value of the tickets was at about $150.

Later, at about 1 a.m. on New Year’s Day, police officers checked a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire on Green Street after it was reported that the vehicle was driving dangerously. As a result, police arrested a 41-year-old Summerside man and charged him with impaired driving.
