SUMMERSIDE – Summerside’s Credit Union Place is opening its doors wide to the public on New Year’s Eve.

A number of free activities are planned throughout the day, culminating in the 7 p.m. Summerside Capitals vs. Miramichi Timberwolves home game (which is not free).

Leading up to the game there will be cosmic bowling, glow-sticks in the pool and disco lighted skating on the ice pad.

The Veteran’s Convention Centre will also be full of inflatable games for kids, and there will be face painting and balloon twisting available for anyone who wants them. There will also be free popcorn and hot chocolate in the lobby.

The free activities will be available from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

“We are extremely pleased to have the Summerside Y Service Club help out with serving some treats for everyone when they arrive,” said JP Desrosiers, community services director.

“The staff has worked hard at putting together some new twists on things this year and we feel we have something for everyone to enjoy the evening.”

Not much effort went into planning the New Years night. Not everyone is a fan of hockey . 5 to 8 o'clock is not all day .New Year event needs to go back to the Queen Elizabeth Park . You will have to do better than that JP.
