KINGSBORO - Kings District RCMP arrested an impaired driver at a check stop set up on Route 16 in Kingsboro on Dec. 26 at 10:15 p.m.

A 44-year-man from Souris was taken to the Souris RCMP detachment where he provided breath samples. As a result of the investigation, the driver faces impaired driving related charges.

He was released on a promise to appear in Georgetown court at a later date.

RCMP ask that the motoring public assist them in the detection and apprehension of impaired drivers on our roads.

The holiday season is often a time of increased drinking and driving. Police will be vigilant of this throughout the entire holiday season in their ongoing efforts to keep roadways safe.
