SUMMERSIDE - Summerside police are continuing their investigation into a double hit and run incident that happened earlier this month.

On Dec. 5, a 2011 red Ford Edge came off Convent Street and struck a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan travelling north on Granville Street, causing considerable damage to both vehicles.

The driver of the Ford failed to stop at the scene and continued to Water Street where it turned east and struck and destroyed the light standard at the intersection of Harvard and Water streets. The driver also failed to stop at this scene.

Police said they have a suspect vehicle in this matter and are attempting to identify the driver at the time of the accident.

A department spokesperson said on Monday, no charges have been laid to date.
