SUMMERSIDE — Students at Prince County schools, after a late start to the day, are heading home early.

Winter storm

The English Language School Board has decided that due to decreasing visibility and deteriorating weather conditions, classes in the Kinkora, Kensington, Three Oaks and Westisle families of schools will be dismissed three hours early today.

Older students are also going home early, as the Holland College campuses in West Prince and Summerside are closing for the day.

Due to the school closures, all after-school activities are cancelled for this evening, including school athletics and scheduled PEISA games in Prince County.

As well, East Prince Minor Basketball has cancelled all basketball activities that were scheduled for tonight.

The Prince County Hospital Foundation's board/volunteer Christmas party scheduled for the Summerside Golf and Country Club has been cancelled.

Northumberland Ferries has cancelled their 4:30 p.m. from Wood Islands and 6:15 p.m. from Caribou due to inclement weather in the strait.
