TIGNISH -- The chair of the Tignish Village Council was so enthusiastic about the return this year of the Tignish Santa Claus parade that he set a bold objective for the future.

This year’s parade, back after a three-year absence, attracted 12 floats. Attendance, however, was more than expected and McInnis said the people who the parade was all about, the children, were enthusiastic. Most important, he said, was seeing the children “with their eyes bulged out” with excitement about seeing Santa.

“I’m happy it came back,” councilor Joey Carragher said in sharing his enthusiasm with the parade’s return.

Council is now planning, in cooperation with the Tignish Legion, a New Year’s levee.
