Eric Ferrish and Sue Gallant are back again as co-chairs of the annual Kin Family Appeal, which airs Dec. 9 on Eastlink TV. For the first time, the live appeal will be aired in high definition.
The centre, once again, is home to the live on-air appeal, which airs on Eastlink TV.
This year’s list of entertainers includes Kim Albert, Kendall Paugh, Reel Talent School of Dance, Danielle Bryanton and Nick Hann, who are all lending their talents to help generate donations and pledges, which, in turn, are used to buy supplies for Christmas baskets for the less fortunate.
The appeal airs from 7 to 10 p.m. on Channel 10 and 610 in high definition.
Back as anchor is Roger Ahern and Roy MacCaull returns again as host.
The three-hour telethon includes an on-air auction featuring a long list of items donated by Island businesses, organizations and individuals.
Last year, including pledges, donated items and food, a little over $40,000 was raised, which was down slightly from the previous year.
The Kin Family was able to use the money and donations to put together 183 Christmas hampers for area families in need.
To make a donation the night of the appeal, call 1-800-666-3543. That night, volunteers will pick up pledges throughout the city.
