It’s a snow day

Despite the car’s outside temperature gauge flipping between plus one and zero degrees Celsius this morning, today is undeniably a snow day in western P.E.I.

Roads are passable but travelling conditions are slow as snow-clearing machines struggle to keep up with the snowfall.

RCMP in P.E.I. have issued an advisory that the high winds and blowing snow are reducing visibility across the preovince. They are urging motorists to use caution whle  driving and to consider staying off the roads unless absolutely necessary.

The Island’s French and English Language school boards have cancelled classes for the day and most government offices are either closed or have delayed openings.

This just might be a good day to curl up with a good book or to get some Christmas baking done up early.
